A garden through the seasons

Today Alice Fleurkens is sharing her Sweaburg , Ontario , garden with us . We ’ve visited Alice ’s garden before , so if you ’d like to see more , retard out these Wiley Post : Good Friends Make a peachy GardenandFall to Winter .

This corner of the garden has a pretty outstanding exhibit from an unbelievable ‘ Molton Fire ’ amaranth ( Amaranthustricolor‘Molton Fire ’ , one-year ) . It has dark leaves on older growth , but the fresh growth twist smart as a whip red as the plant matures . It make a long - lasting and colorful argument in this garden .

This stretchiness of the garden in summer is punctuated by drab ageratum ( Ageratumhoustonianum , yearly ) , which make masses of fuzzy blue flowers all summer long .

Alice has mixedshrubs , perennial , annuals , and even somekaleto make a beautiful and divers garden .

Alice ’s front step in the gloaming include shrubs that provide structure and color all twelvemonth , while skunk of flowers add up pop ofseasonal colour .

The scene by those steps has changed since last fall , as Alice select out a large bush at the corner to show off these rocks more and then made a nice space for this interesting and unusual birdbath she made out of detail found at Goodwill .

This lovely clunk of tulip with dark burgundy flowers edged in gold feeling like it might be the varietyTulipa‘Gavota ’ ( zone 3–8 ) .

This beautifulflowering treeis in reality in the neighbour ’s curtilage , but it provide a beautiful backdrop for Alice ’s own garden .

One last guess of the front step and skirt garden as they see in the spring , with tulips blooming and lots of promise of a summertime of beauty to come .
