Making beauty in a new climate
Today ’s photos are from Beate in Brandon , Vermont .
Hello , I moved to Vermont from Virginia in 2019 and set out to establish a Modern garden on a mostly empty 3/4 - acre plenty .
The garden is very wet , so I have had to aline to many newgrowing conditions . I have a mix ofnativeand crop flora including hardyroses , hydrangea , andhibiscus . I fill up in empty fleck withannuals in potsand in the ground as the tree , shrub , and perennials have metre to grow and occupy in .

It is an on-going project , and I have many plans for expansion andeliminating more lawn .
Containersoverflowing with blossom make thispatioa magical place to sit and enjoy the summer .
A beautifulclimbing rosetransforms thisfencewith a shower of flowers .

A unripened bench is pucker in the flowers , with a hardy hibiscus ( Hibiscussyriacus , Zones 5–9 ) blooming to the unexpended and asmooth hydrangea(Hydrangeaarborescens , Zones 3–9 ) tumbling over the back and side of the work bench .
Crispgrass pathsmake a great direct contrast to the deep lushness of the fullborders .
It ’s hard to outwit the beauty of a perfectrose .
