Creative plant combinations for winter containers

Robin Parsons   is partake some her handiwork today .

She writes : I loved your late article on containers and apply existing materials . desire you will enjoy these pots I project seasonally for a fantastic waterfront - estate of the realm client in the Seattle area .

This wonderful container has a festive , vacation feel , underscore green and blanched from motley ivy , ornamental cultivated cabbage , and a blooming Christmas rose ( Helleborus niger , Zones 3–8 ) . point of color add to the scene from a bright red ball tucked in among the industrial plant and colorful Berry . I also get laid how this plantation owner visually borrows the branches of a tree behind it .

These colorful containers are focused on bright leaf , from the purple ornamental pelf , yellow - foliaged shrubs , and a wonderful celestial bamboo ( Nandina domestica , Zones 6–11 ) blush red for the wintertime .

Another horizon of the same two containers . What wonderful flowerpot of colour and sunshine to perch up the sometimes disconsolate Seattle winter .

I love the enjoyment of holiday ornaments in this container , which give it a festive air . The big flushed ornament echoes the red in the leaves of the celestial bamboo that dominates the container . The whole color outline is a uncomplicated , advanced , and seasonally appropriate green - and - red .
