CTG’s Moving!

New skyline await us in the adventure we call 2021 . We ca n’t know the outcome , as diligently as we may plot it . All we can do is step on the lead and move forward . And that ’s what Austin PBS is doing , as we bundle up and give UT ’s College of Communication building that ’s been our habitation since 1974.Our address : the Austin Community College Highland campus and a newfangled contemporaries of public media and a new criterion of community of interests encroachment to serve you!Our raw offices and public event space ( indoors and out ) adjoin the three studios , one which we will share with ACC.Here ’s whereCentral Texas Gardener(and other productions ) will record . In small groups , we got a sneak prevue in December . Can you imagine 100 miles of cables? So far , I ’ve only briefly explore the ACC campus , some of it finished and other section still under structure or terminal move - in item . Since ACC recognizes the value of outside fundamental interaction throughout the Clarence Shepard Day Jr. , there are many gathering spots . At dark , lights for prophylactic join landscape glows to romance evening reflection and conversation . Here ’s a look down to theJacob Fontaine Plazawhere the oak trees have been cautiously protected . lately , staff and welding educatee install their reception to monolith fascination . It ’s not a mystery that ACC encourages creativity in all its forms , as I learn in my first chore at ACC Rio Grande . This is just one of the many spaces where native and adapted works soften dealings haphazardness — either from nearby Airport Blvd . or the noise in our brains ! Textural clusters chip in to the peace . This spot features bamboo muhly , Mexican feather grass , and agaves . To the right is an island of red yucca ( Hesperaloe parviflora).Caressible Gulf muhly grass . Blooming Ligularia joins white - stripy Aztec grasses and sedge , backed by Sabal minor palm buff . Bald cypress still assume its warm fall coloring along the motley - use stretching . Since ACC ’s mascot is the Riverbat , an art installation call Thicket boast 73 purple poles of dissimilar altitude . light by night , they symbolize squash racket taking flight . Wishing you all young flights of your own in 2021 ! See you next calendar week , Linda
