How can you go about Florida gardening in August ?
Well , first of all .. you just have to think … it ’s hot out .
This is the clock time of year when most gardens are laid to rest here in Florida – but not ours . The first round of yard - long attic are tapering out and the 2nd circle is starting to add up in … the figs are ripen intermittently and the Citrullus vulgaris are about ready . We ’ve bugger off lots of southerly peas about to ripen , plus the golden gram bean are getting near to being quick . We ’re also pick casual West Indian Gherkins . They do n’t seem to have any disease or gadfly issues , though productiveness has been low thus far . The relish is excellent – like a lemony cucumber .

Most of the beds of greenness played out long ago … but we ’ve got moringa , gratifying murphy leaves and Florida Cranberry for salads , plus comfrey and wads of herb . We ’re set on cooked greens , since I ’ve got chaya implant all over the front yard nutrient forest . I ’ve also sire velvet beans and Seminole pumpkins climbing up the tree diagram .

Our beds are mostly fill with noggin and sweet potatoes right now , though I ’ve also get under one’s skin a nice bed of boniato kicking along next to the sugar cane plot .

And speaking of pelf cane , is n’t that looking expert ? That ’s the same spot I wrote abouthere . Amongst my tropical plant , we ’ve get naranjilla ripening right now ; unfortunately , this mixture was from an decorative industrial plant nursery and the yield are worthlessly sordid .
We ’ve also got guavas that are just starting to take shape .
And do n’t let me forget grapes !
