Monarch butterflies, that is
Today we ’re claver Lynn DeSantis ’s garden , where she has a lot of flowers that pull in the attention of humans and butterflies .
Stokes aster ( Stokesialaevis , Zones 5–9 ) , obedient plant ( Physostegiavirginiana , Zones 3–9 ) , and buddleia ( Buddleiadavidii , Zones 5–9 ) by the patio . This planting makes purpose of a very simple design proficiency : choose plants with flowers in a similar color range , and it really makes the garden look more cohesive and intentional .
Another not bad combining of colour . Dark burgundy drumstick genus Allium ( Alliumsphaerocephalon , Zones 4–8 ) combined with a soft lavender campanula ( possiblyCampanularapunculoides , Zones 3–9 ) and a empurpled bee balm ( Monardasp . ) that echoes the color of the genus Allium , but in a lighter specter that tie in the bellflower .

The paseo leads through the gate to the patio and the garden beside it .
A black swallowtail butterfly feeding on a violet coneflower ( Echinaceapurpurea , Zones 3–8 ) . This beautiful butterfly stroke feeds on the nectar from a wide range of different flower as an adult . If you want more of them in your garden , ensure to plant food for the Caterpillar as well . They love many plants in the carrot household , include Queen Anne ’s lace , carrots , cultivated celery , dill weed , Florence fennel , and parsley .
A monarch feeding on the bright orange peak of the butterfly weed ( Asclepiastuberosa , Zones 3–9 ) . Monarch caterpillars only feed on the farewell of plants in the milkweed genus , Asclepias . This works is a beautiful one that please human and insect visitors alike .

swampland milkweed ( Asclepiasincarnata , Zones 3–8 ) is another beautiful milkweed that is great for nurseryman as well as monarch butterflies . As the name implies , this mintage is a good choice if you have consistently blotto stain , though it will thrive in normal , well - enfeeble garden soil as well .
A cloud of ‘ Purple Sensation ’ ornamental onion ( Allium‘Purple Sensation ’ , Zones 4–7 ) .
A final view of the garden .
