Whenever I grow brussel sprouts , the plants get lovely tall with mickle of leave-taking . The sprouts along the stem never shut up to organise a cabbage like orb and ride out leafy . Not sure how I can get them to close up . Maybe the timing of defoliate the plant is awry . I water , fertilise and am frustrated . I did note that someone mention on a youtube video that the aphid will get between the leaves which keep them from shut down . Without spraying chemicals on the plant , how do I prevent this? Thanks for your feedback , Alice
