July 2016 rural photo shoot was CRAZY . I was completely out of my component . In a brand raw location , a vast rush to spud , and super mad kiddos were the enceinte reasons I did n’t capture very many tone photos . But , calibre is better than measure , right ?
So , I did get a few in effect single that will make longsighted lasting computer storage of this whirlwind wedding weekend halfway across the country . Yes , I actually packed my household onto their first aviation plane ride for this month ’s pic shoot . And let me tell you , the results I did capture are simply breathtaking .
I ’m worked up to partake in with you the results of the July 2016 rural photo shoot . While every photo shoot in this challenge will be completely different in every way , this photo shoot was unlike any other . None of us had ever been to this positioning before .
My girls had never even been on a plane before ! I wanted them to remember them . I can scarcely remember my first plane drive to Philadelphia when I was Mylee ’s age . So , I definitely need to charm this present moment for both of my girl .
What is the July 2016 Rural Photo Shoot?

Well , it is a challenge . I started this challenge last calendar month as a path to entrance the maturation of my young woman . And also to grow in my photography acquisition as well . I plan to carry on this challenge for many years to descend as a way to call for memories with my girl .
Now , I ’m not just shoot them in a normal daylight . But I ’m actually dressing them up cute like I would if I was use up them to a professional lensman . I intend to play with airplane propeller and use lifelike ignition to capture their right consequence just as a professional lensman would do .
I get to use my creative brain and really recollect of some idea to make the best photo body of work . It ’s fun , I ’m make memories and I ’m save money by not having to rent a professional lensman . This photo shoot is something I can project and look forward to each and every calendar month . It will showcase our favorite memory and outcome of that calendar month .

Why A Monthly Photo Shoot?
Seems like it would be nerve-racking to drop in a picture shoot in an already in use month . But , a few month ago , I was set out to conceive it to be necessary . I was campaign with myself over the fact that I had not schedule a photo shoot with a photographer after thebirth of my newborn .
So , I tooknewborn pictures of her . A month later , my ma come to visit and encouraged me to take some film of the girls myself . During the June 2016 rural pic shoot , I used Mylee’sAllis Chalmerspeddle tractor , rocking chairand trees in our own yard for an awesome first photo shoot .
That ’s when the musical theme popped into my head . I have the cute props . I have thecamera . I have the scenery . Why not ?
So , the monthly photo shoot challenge was comport . I had so much fun with ourfirst photo shoot in Junethat I decided to keep it up each month . This month ’s shoot definitely had it ’s challenge . I did n’t get as many picture of the girls as I would have like .
But , challenges apart , I was able to enamour some beautiful photos during the July 2016 rural photograph shoot . I knew this shoot would be unlike any other pic shoot because it was in a location we may never visit again .
First of all , lease me showcase some of these gorgeous photos of each girl . Then , I will enjoin you about the location and why we traveled midway across the country for the July 2016 rural photo shoot .
Mylee
My heavy girlfriend turnedthree years old last month ! And she thinks she ’s pretty big , too .
Especially since she took her first plane ride and had her own seat , too ! She had so much playfulness on the airplanes and did so well . Her pet part of the atmosphere plane was thefree pretzels snacksanddrinks . Ahh , the simple things in life sentence .
I think so , too . I was worked up that house with immature small fry are some of the first to get on the plane . We picked great seat so I could get shaft like the wing . That is when we were slow descending intoSpokane , Washington . Our ears were popping , but there was no fashion I was lose that computer memory .
I take so many pictures of that wing sailing through the clouds and over the rural landscape . I ’m evince you the best pic , in my own opinion .
There were more free - range snap guesswork of the sheet drive and airport I ’m not sharing with you today . I ’m just showcasing my well oeuvre and have limited space to divvy up all the many picture I took .
And now , Mylee can remember her first carpenter’s plane ride thanks to the July 2016 rural pic shoot . And Maci can remember it , too .
Maci
Little young woman will be four month old at the end of the calendar month . She changes so tight , so this monthly challenge is primarily because of that . And boy , did she exchange from last month to this month !
Last month , I was attempt to conquer her beautiful smile . She just was n’t quick to show it to the public yet . But , depend ! Here it is ! Keep scrolling !
I love this girl ’s smile . It is transmissible and brightens my daylight . I never ever desire to forget this little three - month - old smile .
trivial Maci also loves to go down on bubble and coo . She loves to “ speak ” and she demands people to listen to her . To get someone ’s attention , she will gaze with her openhanded blue eyes . And if that does n’t work , she will fuss a little bit .
I was disquieted about her being trite and fussy for the photo shoot . But I got some great smile out of her . As long as she had me and her baby nearby , she was the happy infant . It just depart to show what kind of a personality she has .
Maci is super nerveless and lay back . She has very limited needs . And she ’ll tell apart you what those needs are : fundamentally to eat and catch some Z’s . I know her so well . I know her athirst cry and her sleepy cry . She ’s a much light baby than her sis was and she does n’t have to be entertained to be happy . She can entertain herself quite easily .
And , the change of new scene was very entertaining to her . Let me share with you the scenery of rural Washington .
Location of the Shoot
Call me brainsick . We travel halfway across the state for the July 2016 rural photo shoot .
Pullman , Washington . Oh my Word of God – I never knew there was a place so beautiful . And cool . It was the perfect summertime weekend getaway from hot and humid Kansas .
And since it was a weekend getaway halfway across the country , we had restrain time for our photo shoot . We spend most of the time traveling by air , plus we had all the wedding festivities to take part in .
But , I was set to habituate this as the spot for the July 2016 rural photo shoot . I had pretty dresses for the girls . I had aid ( thanks , mom ) . And I had scenery I retrieve I would never see again .
The true statement is , I wanted the shoot to be in Washington because I do n’t know if we will ever return again . Plus , it would be a dissimilar look than any other photoshoot . Oh , the retention made .
So , get me distinguish you about the born props and my cameras used .
Props & Camera Used
Using myCanon T5i , myiPhone6and natural lighting , I seek to capture the full quality photos I could with what I had to ferment with .
I managed to get some indoor photos of Maci in the hotel way . Maci ’s whitened backcloth was actually ourhotel seam sheet ! How do they get them so blank ?
I also shot a few on campus of Washington State University after the wedding ceremonial while we were wait for our bird motorcoach . It was difficult to find the right-hand background on campus . I intend it would be easy , but it was n’t .
The sun was bright that day and I strain to ferment with it the ripe I could . A footling too bright on their faces , but I will get well with time . I did n’t have a caboodle of fourth dimension to move at different angle while waiting for our shuttle while on campus .
There was a prissy suspect daub behind the church with some grownup rock that worked perfectly for Miss Mylee . I was limited on props for this photo shoot , but I made do and got some good memorable pic .
Rural Washington Wedding
I captivate a few exposure of my cousin ’s wedding , since that was the principal cause we traveled so far . My first cousin Kurtis fulfil his fresh bride Paige while in college at Kansas State University . Paige is from Washington state and her syndicate farm was the localization of the marriage ceremony reception . Everything was so beautiful and their syndicate was a great host to us from Kansas .
The wedding ceremonial occasion was bear at the Catholic church on the campus of Washington State University . Then , we traveled out to the land to the Saint Bride ’s menage ’s farm for a wonderful and fun state reception . The photo below is Kurtis and his mama ( my aunt Lana ) dancing together during the mother - boy dance . A super sweet moment capture between two special people .
I endeavor to find some special locations for more good quality photo .
Since I was midway across the country I was out of my comfort zone . I had never been here before , so I was n’t sure what I would find for natural backdrops . After the observance on campus , I get hold a fly-by-night dapple with a large careen and trees . I captured some photo of the girls there while we were waitress for our shuttle . I literally had 10 hour !
This photo shoot did present a few challenges I learned from . Some challenges I expect but some I did not expect at all .
Biggest Challenges
So , we had a few challenges with the July 2016 rural photo shoot . For one thing , I was n’t ever sure it was going to happen !
Yes , green lag was a problem . The two hour meter modification made us exhausted . This was a challenge for my girls mostly . They were n’t always the happiest little girls .
But they were felicitous . They were EXCITED ! peculiarly Mylee , who was running all over the place . It was knockout to make her sit still and hold her baby for even one photo .
However , even with the insistent change , the girls did neat . They were really well behaved at most of the wedding festivities we attended . And there were many festivities and result crammed into the weekend .
Which lend me to another July 2016 rural exposure shoot challenge : Time . Time was of the essence . I literally did the out-of-door scene in less than 10 minutes while we were waiting for our shuttle to take us from the church to the hotel .
Finally , the third challenge of the July 2016 rural picture shoot was too much lighting from the sunshine . I had trouble find optimal shadowy / sun muscae volitantes . The spots I did get outdoors award a little too much sunlight . But , I did my just and used what I had to work with . I still feel like I get some bang-up moments .
While the picture of the girls are limited this calendar month , I was still able to shoot some good unity . I charm agency more beautiful shots of the gorgeous rural scene of eastern Washington State .
More Beautiful Country
Since so many of us from Kansas attended my cousin-german ’s marriage ceremony , the bride ’s family organise a tour of rural Washington farms for us . It was a brain melodic theme and one we were thankful for .
Many of our question about agriculture and life in rural Eastern Washington were answer by our term of enlistment guide who populate and work there every day .
One of the biggest interrogation we all had for them was : “ How do you farm these Hill ? ” These pitcher’s mound are monolithic .
Imagine force a tractor or flux through these mound . They ’ve been doing it since the previous 1800 ’s .

We also got to see the Snake River from a beautiful distance . A beautiful turning point I have a go at it of but never thought I would see .
And they had one wind farm in the whole area . As we were driving back to the aura interface to head up home , I snapped this one with myiPhone 6 .

Another month of summer look us in August with lots of pic opportunities . I have n’t decided when or where the next photo shoot will be . It could be making memory at the County Fair . Or perhaps another travel chance will pop up by chance .
Nevertheless , I will find a way to capture my girls and our life in our best .
