Today ’s photos are from Pam Merrill , who says,“I live in Sheldon ’s Grove , a rural community in central Illinois . We built our log home in 1991 . We have landscaped 8 acres where the house is locate and 3 acres across the route .
landscape gardening as a initiate has been quite a learning experience . test and error , but mostly error . In 2000 I thought there had to be a better mode , so I became a Master Gardener . The title always sounded restrain to me , and I do n’t view myself a master copy at anything because you never blockade learning . Sharing knowledge and helping others is the most rewarding part of gardening .
My husband has been so creative in the use of native sandstone tilt , which we have acquire over the eld . He put in the hardscape by himself – extremely time wipe out but so rewarding for our choice of a landscape painting in the country .

I have many garden but the most popular is the Butterfly Garden , which is seeable from the route that guide between our properties . It evolved from an abandoned motocross jump for my sons to exercise their dirt bikes on . They grew up and allow for house , of course , and the view of the grease knoll from my kitchen window was beg for something pretty to look at .
It took many years to mature , but the Butterfly Garden bring so much pleasure to us and is appreciated by many admirer , neighbor , and strangers driving by , many of whom are directed by others to come and visit . It ’s very rewarding to receive so many sincere complement from mass who appreciate our piece of work here at home . ”
