Growing roses all year - orotund , with the possibility to ramp up yield when necessary . This is what YUG AGRO does in the largest greenhouse of the Krasnodar region , Russia . “ We develop over 40 rose varieties here , ” says Aleksey Chief Agronomist of YUG AGRO . Indeed , the glasshouse is in full bloom of unlike standard , scented , and spray roses . “ We have a very modern setting here , ” he continues . This is true if considering the climate of southern Russia . “ It does n’t get too cold in wintertime , ” he points out . “ Yet , in the summer , it gets very hot . ”
Thus , the temperature is not that big of a trouble in Winter for Aleksey . The real challenge is lighting . “ We have a good storey of productiveness , but this can be right smart high , ” he allege . “ The sunlight we get is not enough to accommodate that , specially during dip and winter . That ’s why we have installed HPS lamps in the past to complement that . ”
Capable of more productionYet , Aleksey was still not satisfied with what he was seeing , “ We can produce even more than that . We are focusing our movement now to increase productiveness . To do that , we are increasing the light . ” So , YUG AGRO has set up an experiment in the nursery to compare different fixtures , with a special combination of lights . “ We are going for a hybrid apparatus , ” he remarks . “ HPS and VYPR 3p LED fixtures from Fluence . Together with the horticulture service team from Fluence , we adjudicate on an effective , milklike - pink spectrum include far bolshy for full flush forming , impregnable shoots and long , straight stem development . ”

YUG AGRO started try out with these lights only in January , so it ’s still too early to draw conclusions . “ Yet , you could already discover something , ” says Aleksey . “ shoot see and really are very potent already , and broadly stronger compared to the control domain . ” At the same sentence , this trial is not only about check off which fixture and setup perform the best . “ We are also looking for more effective way of operating for example to use hybrid lighting in winter for make the hotness from the HPS , and employ Fluence LEDs only in fall and spring periods ”
Energy in RussiaEven though YUG AGRO is trying to regain ways to tighten energy uptake , the post in Russia is way different compared to Europe . “ There ’s no Energy Department crisis here , ” he say . “ Prices in Russia are way lower than currently in Europe . Yet , we do value sustainability , and it ’s cleared that this is where the future is channelise towards . So , we need to start thinking about that now : if we do n’t do anything , it could damage our yield and lucrativeness later . We are probably going to shift all our HPS to LED in the future , but we want to examine this first . For now , we are conk out for a hybrid root . ”
The tending to the small detail stool the need for YUG AGRO ’s roses quite high , according to Aleksey . “ We apply a good deal of things to make certain that our roses have a tenacious shelf lifespan : for instance , we protect the rootage with some microbiology solution , and a lot of micronutrition as well . ”

ramp up production right before demands surgesKeeping roses invariably wise with a retentive ledge - life-time is essential , specially in the period to come . “ Valentine ’s day was just a few days ago , and sooner than you may suppose it ’s the 8th of March , ” aver he . “ During this period , spring up prices are generally high than usual . To capitalize on that , and to fulfill the huge demand , we ramp up product so that we have everything ready for the 8th of March . To do that , we start increasing the temperature in the greenhouse 2 week before the 8th of March - so , essentially after Valentine ’s . We start selling roses around the 18th of February , as it train around one week to get fork over . That ’s why being capable to keep up their freshness and tone is perfectly all-important . ”
Together Yug Agro and Fluence will further optimize ignition strategies to better production .
“ We are delighted to corroborate Yug Agro with our lighting solution to provide roses to the Caucasian and Ural area , ” says Timo Bongartz , Fluence ’s General Manager for EMEA region .
