garden
On Saturdays I am sharing six thing go on in my garden . Why do n’t you join in ? Can be anything ; a project , an interesting plant , a adept flower , a success , a failure , anything really .
Here are my six for today .

1 ) Clematis . I ’ve planted a luck of clematis this year , after a bargain sweep at B&Q sooner in theyear . The first flowers arrived this workweek , first of many I go for …
2 ) Alchemilla mollis , lady ’s mantle . A garden loyalist . I like the leaves , especially when they ’re pie-eyed . They seem to curb the water , they must have slimly hirsute leaves . I started with a modest group of these plants , they have go around themselves freely around the garden . I do n’t mind .
3 ) unhappily , the tulips are mostly a busted affluent now . I planted over 200 late last year ( acquired at deal monetary value , naturally ) , several different variety . The presentation was quite good , although about 50 were not happy in a large planter – too shady for them I think , they catch no unmediated Sunday at all . I ’ll dig those up and hive away once the leafage has died down , with a scene to observe a better spot for them in November . I ’m going to buy a standardised amount later this twelvemonth when stock is available , to construct up the display even more . I ’ve heard that some tulips are n’t reliable returners , but I am hop that this year ’s lot total back for an encore next leap . This is the last flower standing , and even that is look a little sorry for itself . Shame they ’re done , but it was ripe for several calendar week . Looking forward to next year !

4 ) block - me - not . I ’ve never planted any . Not one . And yet I have some . ego - sow , I assume , or perhaps it was deposited by a bird .
5 ) Ceonothus . This has become a large shrub , or is it a diminished Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree ? More by luck than judgement the canopy is quite high , 3 m , giving some good height to that part of the perimeter and allowing some worthwhile space for underplanting . It is crusade a little turn with a very thuggish jasmine , more on that beast another time . I ’ve had the ceonothus for twelvemonth , 10 maybe . It brings a nice dab of colour to other / mid springtime , blue too , not something I see much of in our garden
6 ) strawberry mark tug . In past years I admit strawberry to take over a whole raised bed , which was n’t a good idea , they began to invade other bottom and besides , the plants seem to become unproductive after a few year . I dig them all up and we have beensans fraisessince then . That changes this class , I ‘ accidentally ’ grease one’s palms 36 plant from the pity bench in my garden center last weekend , nothing plainly haywire with them , they must have overstocked . Bargain ! I needed somewhere to imbed them though and the set up beds are all planned out for vegetable . I call up seeing on another blog that someone had forge a vertical plantation owner out of an quondam palette . I set to it , bodged one up , here it is all planted up .

I ’ll be back next week with another Six on Saturday .
